A solar powered lunch box is promising to keep food hot or cold – depending on what is required.Sunnyside has a self-heating and cooling feature that ensures meals are at the right temperature just before eating. A heating coil around the metal container helps evenly conduct thermal energy around the food, keeping hot stuff hot.But for a salad for example, three fans located on the bottom of the lunchbox draw out warm air, ensuring your food doesn’t spoil in the heat. An internal thermometer keeps a tab on the temperature and shuts it down automatically if it goes beyond a set point. The whole thing is powered by a solar panel built into the lid.The Sunnyside is said to be leak-proof and has a modular divider to help organise lunch. A tiny LCD screen and buttons on the side help users control how hot or cool they want the contents to be. An internal thermometer allows you to constantly gauge food temperature, which gets displayed on the small screen. The temperature can also be controlled using an app.The internal battery also doubles up as a wireless power bank to charge your phones, AirPods, or even a laptop.

TWIN COAL MINERS WAIVE THE OLDEST BOXING RULE
8 February 1950
The oldest unwritten law in boxing is that brother must not fight brother. But the smudged lunch eaters in this picture, Percy Jones (left) and brother Rees of Markham Monmouthshire, waive the rule. Both bantamweights, they entered the Mineworkers Amateur Boxing Championships. Rees out pointed T McCann in the semi final. Percy had a bye. Appearing in the final, the brothers gave the Newbridge, Monmouthshire fans a thrilling display. Percy out pointed Rees for the West Monmouthshire area leadership. He will appear in the South Western Divisional Championships at Cardiff on February 11. (FOTO:DUKAS/TOPFOTO)
