Noch ein wenig scheu: Gorilla Mama Kimya zeigt sich mit ihrem Baby im Zoo von Melbourne / 180315 ***
Mother Western Lowland Gorilla Kimya with her newborn baby Baby gorilla makes public debut at Melbourne Zoo, Australia - 18 Mar 2015 ***
[An adorable baby gorilla has made its first public appearance since being born at Melbourne Zoo, Australia. The youngster, who was born over the weekend, is the first born at the zoo since 2000 and is the product of the international endangered species breeding program. Father Otana made the long journey from Melbourne to Howlett's Wild Animal Park in Kent in September 2013, while mother Kimya arrived a month later from her birthplace at Taronga Zoo. Primate Department Manager Harna Burton says: "We had high expectations of Kimya because she was mother-raised at Taronga Zoo and had experience watching older females raise their babies. "She seems to have learned from observing those behaviours, as she has been a textbook Mum so far. "From the time Kimya picked the baby up right after giving birth, she hasn't put the little one down. Such young gorilla babies need the body heat of their mothers to stay warm, so we have been monitoring this very carefully". ] (FOTO: DUKAS/ACTIONPRESS)

Zuwachs bei den Erdferkeln im Colchester Zoo
Süsser Erdferkel Baby wird wegen ungeschickter Verwandtschaft mit Mutter in Schutzhaft genommen

[A family of Aardvarks will have to wait to meet their latest arrival (pictured) - because zoo keepers think they are too CLUMSY to be allowed near the baby. This adorable - if odd looking - baby Aardvark was born at Colchester Zoo, Essex, to mother ten-year-old Oq on March 20. But the infants family are so prone to "clumsiness" keepers have been forced to keep the mother and baby separate - for its own safety. The animals often bump into each other, are unaware of their own strength and have been known to accidentally crush their young.] (FOTO: DUKAS/ACTIONPRESS)
