Actress Sydney Sweeney has a smashing time with a pastime — fixing broken crockery using the Japanese art of kintsugi.
The idea is to mend the cracks with lacquer dusted with gold, silver, or platinum.
This technique is not meant to hide the damage, but rather to celebrate it, transforming the imperfections into unique features.
The White Lotus star , 27, joined forces with Hollywood veteran Julianne Moore ,64, for the kintsugi attempt.
The pair star together in a new Apple TV+ movie, Echo Valley as mother and daughter in a murder mystery.

Divers discovering Mayan crockery while exploring the underwater cave system
Exploring unexplored cave system beneath the jungle, Yucatan peninsula, Mexico - Nov 2017
    *Full story: https://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/u6qe
Buried beneath the jungle in Mexico is an eerie subterranean world of submerged caves that remain virtually unexplored. Beneath the lush greenery of the Yucatan Peninsula the world's largest underwater cave systems exist. Over the past few years multi award-winning photographer and scientist Klaus Thymann has been braving these mystical blue depths to go to places that have never been visited by man before. Access to the water is through an extremely narrow, ten-meter deep shaft located in the middle of the jungle. Once through this unassuming shaft it opens up into a breathtaking cave of crystal clear turquoise waters and stunning natural formations. During his most recent expedition Klaus and his partner Alex Reato discovered fully intact Mayan crockery suggesting that they once collected fresh water from here.

One Man's Trash: Photographer Documents The Things We Throw Away

A photographer has created a fascinating photo series by waiting around at a rubbish dump.

Sebastian Magnani wanted to document our relationship with material items - particularly what we consider disposable items.

He decided to snap visitors to Zurich's waste and recycling centre as they dropped off unwanted items.

His pictures show a steady stream of men, women and children carrying goods ranging from ski boots to a sledge.

Sebastian explains: "I shot the people who came in their cars and asked the workers where they need to trash her stuff.

"I asked them for a quick photo and for each picture I had maybe 10 Seconds. There was a long snake of people trashing their stuff.

"Most of the items were still working. Of course, items like the fire extinguisher were finished and the TV was retro and old.

"But, the boy with the sledge, that still works! Also, the books, the crate, the ironing board for the clothes; all working.

"People seemed at ease with disposing of products which mostly still work. At some point one has the feeling of wanting to possess something new again. It is a constantly repeating pattern to satisfy our needs, but not important. Finally, everything is a repetition, a different appearance. The old plate is replaced with the same function, but the design is different.

"We just want the feeling that something is changing in life. Maybe we should be conscious of what we really need. Everything else is a distraction, something we like to use to distract us from ourselves.

"How insecure and upset we actually are. But what if all of these products would no longer be? Time for change. Redefine prosperity. Materialism."

Elizabeth Hurley and Shane Warne open the Ampney Crucis village fete, Gloucestershire, Britain - 25 Jun 2011
The newly divorced Elizabeth Hurley arrived at the Ampney Crucis Village Fete in a Range Rover driven by new beau, former Australian cricketer, Shane Warne. After formally opening the fete, and almost taking a tumble on the cricket pavillion steps, Miss Hurley and Warne purchased a plastic duck to enter into the Duck Race. Shane Warne then tested his skills at skittles, and then at smashing crockery by hurling cricket balls. The pair then visited the secondhand bookstall where they purchased a Dick Francis novel, and then after having their pictures taken and signing autographs with many of the locals, they proceeded to the Womens Institute cake stall and purchased a number of cakes to take home 'for tea with the kids'

In a bid to wash that Rolling Stone right out of her hair a soon to be divorced Jo Wood is selling up and moving on. She has put her expansive and eclectic home, Holmwood House in Kingston Hill, Surrey, on the market for GBP 13m. Despite the rock 'n' roll property being only being 12 miles from central London, Jo, 53, is keen to move to town following the official end of her 24-year marriage to Ronnie Wood. Famously, the Rolling Stone guitarist brought their two-and-a-half-decades together to an end when he started a fling with an 18-year-old waitress. That relationship may not have lasted but there is certainly not going back for Ronnie and Jo, who has keenly embraced the single life. In a bid to move on she has put the former family home, which over the years has been host to a number of lavish parties, up for sale.

    Visit from Marlene .

There are still plenty of guesses flying around about how Marlene Dietrich's age . But one thing is certain - that she is always willing to put her fame and her talent to generous free use for a worthy charity - and especially for children charities . Just now she is appearing in cabaret in London at the Cafe de Paris . But recently she was the star turn in a huge midnight charity matinee organised by Noel Coward in aid of the Actor's Orphanage , of which he is President . This show raised over £10,000 for the Orphanage . Soon afterwards , President Noel took Marlene - the biggest money - spinner on his bill - down to see the children of the Orphanage in their fine building in Chertsey in Surrey . The sun for once was shone , the 32 boys and girls were scrupulously washed and tidied up m and at 5 o'clock up drove a gleaming Rolls Royce and out stepped Coward and Dietrich .

PICTURE SHOWS:- Time for business . Having eaten a hearty tea , Marlene doggedly signs fifty publicity photos for the children and members of the staff .
