A shoe designer reckons using laces to tie them is so last Century.Instead, he has created three new ways to secure footwear and his target audience is the Millennial generation.Instead of trying a shoes, USA-based Jeff Shen’s Wacky Pack collection uses zippers, drawstrings and poppers.Shen was inspired by the phrase” tying a shoe”.He wondered if the mudane action could “ be turned into something more meaningful, versatile or entertaining ?”The result is three different conceptual styles all in Shen’s favourite veg-tanned leather. Bao Bao uses a drawstring bag technique; Sticky Fingers has a zipper, not just n the upper but also around the sole and , finally, the Osnap with uppers made of interconnecting leather panels that snap together with poppers.
