Children's author Helen Bailey goes missing, Royston, Hertfordshire, Britain - 23 Apr 2016
Helen Bailey's dachshund Boris, who she took for a walk when she went missing, leaving a note saying she needed "time alone." Police who are looking for the 51-year-old writer - best known for her Electra Brown and Daisy Davenport books for teenagers - have drained a cess pit in her garden at her home in Royston, Herts. Police drained the cessit at the house she shares with partner Ian Stewart and then took sniffer dogs into the property. She is known to have been affected by the death of her husband, who drowned on holiday in Barbados in 2011 and had documented the tragedy on a blog and in a book and had also been struggling to cope as her partner had been suffering health problems.

Children's author Helen Bailey goes missing, Royston, Hertfordshire, Britain - 20 Apr 2016
Police have been searching woodland near the home of missing children's author Helen Bailey. Officers have spent the day carrying out extensive searches of the area around Royston Golf Club and Royston Heath in Hertfordshire, near to where the 51-year-old lives. Helen, known for her Electra Brown and Daisy Davenport books, has been missing for a week. She also wrote the book When Bad Things Happen In Good Bikinis, a compilation of blog posts that she had compiled after her husband of 22 years, John Sinfield, drowned in February 2011 on a Caribbean holiday. Helen had stated that she needed some time to herself but has not been seen or heard from since. For the last year she has been living in Royston with her current partner and his two children. She was last seen on Monday, April 11 at 2.45pm. She is described as slim, with long black hair and it is believed her dog, a miniature Dachshund, is also with her. Officers at Hertfordshire police are urging her to make contact.

    Police searching Royston Golf Club

    Photographer explores Vatnajökull glacie using Sony's back-illuminated full-frame sensor, Iceland - 25 Nov 2015

Photographer Mikael Buck with assistance from renowned local Icelandic guide Einar Runar Sigurdsson, explored the frozen world of Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland using Sony's world first back-illuminated full-frame sensor, which features in the 7R II camera. His images were taken without use of a tripod or any image stitching techniques in photoshop. This was made possible through Sony's new sensor technology, allowing incredibly detailed low-light hand held photography. Previously images this detailed would have required carrying bulky equipment to the caves, some of which can require hiking and climbing over a glacier for up to two hours to to access. The images were taken without the use of any external sources - just the natural light that filters through the ice caves.
