NEWS - London: Daumen hoch - 'Really Good' das Werk von David Shrigley am Trafalgar Square
David Shrigley is quietly one of Britain’s greatest artists, with a knack of finding a genuinely original take on any commission. Really Good replaces Hans Haackes Gift Horse, a skeleton with a London Stock Exchange ticker tied in a comical bow around its foreleg. That was a comment on deregulated markets and economic inequality. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, unveils the 11th commission for the Fourth Plinth, Really Good by David Shrigley, on Thursday 29 September 2016 in Trafalgar Square, London.

Fourth Plinth shortlist at City Hall, London, Britain - 03 Jun 2008
Recently a question mark has hung over the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square after Boris Johnson indicated that he would like to see a permanent statue honouring the Battle of Britain hero Sir Keith Park installed there. However, after an apparent u-turn by the Mayor it looks like contemporary art on the fourth plinth is here to stay and a panel is due to announce within weeks the next artist to be given the spot. The six-strong shortlist includes Jeremy Deller's burned-out car from Iraq, Antony Gormley's plan to allow people on to the plinth for an hour at a time, 24 hours a day, Tracey Emin's proposal for meerkats, Yinka Shonibare's scale model of HMS Victory, Anish Kapoor's 'Sky Plinth' and Bob & Roberta Smith's solar and wind powered illuminated peace sign.
