Family road holidays of the future could see self-driving camper vans able to plot their own scenic tours and routes.Concept Galileo looks ahead to the year 2030, where so-called camper pods are customised to a traveller's every whim. The ultra-stylish rented living pods could replace older motorhomes and trailers as well as some hotels and permanent holiday homes.In 2016, Hymer became the first motorhome brand in the world to begin testing self-driving RVs. Concept Galileo serves as an on-demand modular camping pod service. Each customer personalises the floor plan and amenities package with a team of human and robot workers building each pod to specification.The pod is then fitted to an electric chassis and released onto the road so it can drive itself directly to the new owner.
