PEOPLE - Kim Wild zeigt ihr Nackt-Selbstportrait in London
Mandatory Credit: Photo by Guy Bell/REX Shutterstock (5356789b)
Kim Wilde unveils a nude self-portrait created in 1990It has now been framed by John Jones and launches an online auction for charity via www.wildecancerfoundation.com. The benefitting charity is the 'Hertfordshire Breast Unit Appeal', where her sister in law Mandy Smith was treated for Breast Cancer. The Breast Unit in WGC came about because of a fund raising mission by Vicki Adkins MBE. Vicki's own experience with breast cancer led her to realise that a dedicated place for people to deal with such a traumatic event in their lives was badly needed within the QE2 hospital in W.G.C Hertfordshire. Vicki contacted Kim in the early fund raising days and she was very happy to help out at several events. Eventually when the unit was built Vicki asked Kim to design a garden attached to the unit - a private, peaceful space for anyone affected by breast cancer to go and take time out away from other patients and staff.
Kim commented on the self portrait - 'I called this 'Sunburn' and was inspired to do it after reading an amazing book about Frida Kahlo by Hayden Herrera. I'd forgotten I had it until I cleared out a cluttered room, and there it was inside my old art portfolio from college. When I saw it I thought that it would be perfect to raise money for my chosen charity. It has since been generously framed by John Jones (London) who, frankly, are much more used to framing priceless works of art!'

Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam and her husband Charles MacAdam, construct 'sculptures for children'. Each one from thousands of pieces of nylon, crochet them together into braids over the course of months and then construct them in the chosen location.
'Sculptures For Children': Artist Creates Giant Crochet Playgrounds
Dubbed 'Sculptures for Children' these crochet playgrounds are made from thousands of pieces of nylon and crocheted into braids by husband and wife duo.
These structures are created over several months with tonnes of yarn and are strewn across Japan, Singapore, Shanghai and Spain.
They are the brainchild of Japanese-born Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam and her Canadian husband Charles MacAdam.
After studying and teaching textiles in America in the 1960s, Toshiko began putting together exhibits using crochet for museums. But when two children started playing on one of her pieces at a gallery in Japan, blissfully unaware of the usual polite protocols that govern the display of fine art, she watched nervously as they climbed into the structure, but was thrilled to find that her work suddenly came alive in ways she had never really anticipated.
It was then she realised what she wanted to do with her art.
Despite initial hesitation from the government - as she was proposing for children to play on playgrounds made of string - she began creating her pieces in Japan.
Since then she has gone on to create nine crochet playgrounds, some taking over a year to complete and using thousands of kilograms of nylon.
Talking about how popular the playgrounds are with children, she said: "In 2009 we installed the replacement Knitted Wonder Space at Hakone Open Air Museum as the centrepiece of the Museum's renewal project markin...

Streets Ahead: Amazing 3D Pavement Art
Streets Ahead: Amazing 3D Pavement Art
From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles escaping from the sewer at London's Southbank to a Royal Wedding in Sweden this stunning 3D street art is probably the best on the planet.
Thanks to skilled British artists Joe Hill and Max Lowry pedestrians have had a whole host of dangers to negotiate as they go about their business.
For the past eight years the talented twosome have brought their 3D art skills to pavements all around the globe - with jaw-dropping results - raging waterfalls, a record-breaking crevasse and the legendary Loch Ness monster.
Since Max tragically passed away in 2010, Joe decided to continue their work, keeping the name 3D Joe and Max in Max's memory.
His latest work includes a giant beanstalk bursting through the pavement to celebrate the release of Jack The Giant Slayer, which opens in cinemas today (March 22), extending The Solaris Building in Singapore by four levels and building a futuristic city for Motorola in London and Barcelona.
Not only do these incredible chalk drawings look realistic by themselves - but when passers-by jump into the scene they take on a life of their own.
Press Officer for 3D Joe and Max, Lucy Pratt said: "We usually use chalk to 'map out' the picture and then use paint after, the illusion is created through a camera lens.
"Sometimes an intricately detailed large-scale drawing can take up to seven days to complete, sometimes longer depending on the weather.
"Our standard size is 6 mete...
