Because Lidl and Aldi have nearly 2,000 stores in the UK between them, they are able to place enormous orders, meaning they get the best prices from suppliers.

    But it is not only about trying to secure the lowest price possible. Lidl inspects its factories to ensure that workers aren't being exploited. Aldi's company policy, which prohibits forced labour, discrimination and harassment, mandates compliance with local laws and protects workers' rights to unionise.
