JFK Library and museum
2000 - Boston, Massachusetts, United States: A recreation of the White House Oval Office is exhibited at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum. November 22, 2013 marks the 50th anniversary John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s assasination. The 35th President of the United States was struck by two bullets while traveling in a Dallas motorcade with his wife Jacqueline, Texas Governor John Connally and his wife Nellie. The Warren Commission mounted a ten-month investigation that concluded Kennedy was assassinated by a single gunman named Lee Harvey Oswald. The commission also concluded Jack Ruby acted alone when he shot and killed Oswald before Oswald could stand trial. The conclusions were initially supported by the majority of Americans. Polls later found that as many as 80 percent of Americans suspect that there was a plot or cover-up the murder. Questions over JFK's death remain an American mystery. New US president Joe Biden has already had the decorators in to get his Oval Office at the White House looking just the way he wants it.The main colours are gold, blue and beige. That meant making only a few changes to predecessor Donald Trump’s own preferences. Both presidents had gold drapes. But Democrat Biden has decoded to replace the mainly platinum carpet with one in blueBiden also replaced a bust of British war-time leader Winston Churchill with one of US Latino rights campaigner Cesar Chavez. The changes inspired British door maker Aspire to look at the Oval Room fixtures and fittings and colour schemes over the last 40 years for the seven presidents who have served during that timeA spokesperson explained:” If you had to live like that for the next four ,possibly eight years, you’d want to make it as homely as possible, right? “Well, that’s what the current and past Presidents of the United States have done. “We found a few similarities between the Oval Office’s appearance during the service of each president. “The wainscoting is never touched, the famous Oval Office desk is largely the same, and it seems the most recent presidents quite like a particular chest of drawers too, as these aren’t changed all that often either.“Aside from the above, the décor is changed each time a new president enters the White House; after all, they’re the ones that have to use that room as their new home office.”
