Partygoers enter next to a bouncer, Baby Loves Disco is an afternoon dance party for children and their parents
'Baby Loves Disco' at the Clapham Grand, London, Britain - Apr 2008
    THE DISCO BABES IN ARMS

For parents who simply can't - or won't - let go of their dancing days a new breed of disco is emerging where mums, dads and toddlers can all boogie on down together.

It's 2.30 and the dancefloor is packed with both adults and children strutting their stuff to club classics - 2.30 in the afternoon that is.

Welcome the latest craze sweeping the nation - Baby Loves Disco (BLD). This 'dayclubbing' phenomenon has been sweeping the United States for the last three years ever since a waitress from Philadelphia had a rather bright idea.

The concept has now crossed the ocean - proving to be just as popular this side of the pond too.

Now in the coolest clubs nationwide eager parents and their children gather for a little lunchtime fun, complete with cheesy tunes, bubble machines, baskets of instruments, a chill-out room (with tents, books and puzzles), diaper changing stations, and a full spread of healthy snacks.

There is even a cash bar for mum and dad.

And while most discos operate a lower-age limit, BLD does the opposite; children must be no older than seven.

"Momtreprenuer" Heather Murphy hosted the first ever baby loves disco event three years ago at the small Philadelphia club where she worked, because she was after "something different to do with the kids".

And what had started out as a simple idea quickly grew to be an overnight sensation and fantastic business venture.

Now the concept is in over 22 cities across the U.S. Every single Baby Loves Disco starts in exactly the same wayand is ran as a franchise; a mom (or dad) "signs up" to launch and run the party. They then get shown the ropes and get help se...

Polar bear managed to climb to a level where it almost managed to enter the boat
Male polar bear tries to grab camera, north of Spitsbergen, Norway - Aug 2013
    FULL COPY: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/pyyt

These amazing pictures show a wildlife photographer having a very close encounter with a curious polar bear.

Kyriakos Kaziras was lucky to escape with only a few jaw-dropping images when a male adult swiped at him through a ship's porthole.

He took the picture series from a boat on the sea ice north of Spitsbergen.

Kyriakos explains: "He not only came up to our boat, but remained more than two hours to walk around it. He tried with a lot of perseverance to get on the boat. He poked his nose through all reachable holes and portholes.

"It was at that moment, he tried to reach me and grab my camera. My camera sunshield did not resist."

All along their journey, refugees go from one transit camp to the other.

Photographer Frederic Seguin captured a photo series of Refugees 'in transit' as they make their way between camps in Macedonia. The series shows the strength and resilience of refugees as they try to make their way to safety.

Frederic said: "I wanted to take in all the different aspects of one of these transit camps, through the eyes of refugees.

"From crossing the border to leaving on a train, my pictures show you what it is inside and outside the transit camp of Gevgelija in the south of Macedonia."

With this photo series, Frederic wanted to emphasize the changing political situation, which has affected the transit camps.

In Columbia the cocaine business has become less important than in past years. It is the land now, with its enormous riches hidden in the subsoil, and the consequent lucrative management of extraction, inflaming economic interest and violence.

The gold fever has returned, supported by the exchange rate of 1111 dollars per ounce, almost 32 euros per gram.

Photojournalist Erberto Zani spent time with workers toiling in a trecherous illegal mine in Carrizal.

Witnessing nightmare conditions in cramped and poorly ventilated spaces, up to 500m under the earth, he experienced the dread of rapidly rising waters when an old pump at surface level broke down and the tunnels began began to flood.

Jeep Cherokee attempted to drive over border fence
U.S. Border Patrol finds Jeep Cherokee attempted to drive over Mexican border fence, Yuma, Arizona, America - 30 Oct 2012
With Donald Trump edging closer to the White House, the building of a wall spanning the 1,933 mile land border between Mexico and America could become reality.

Despite existing borders, there have been numerous novel attempts at illegally entering America. This gallery highlights some of the inventive, and often desperate, attempts halted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

They range from the heart-breaking discovery last month (June) of children being smuggled in hot car trunks to December's interception of a fake, but convincing, border patrol vehicle packed with immigrants.

Other attempts include a Jeep Cherokee balanced precariously atop the border fence border fence and the infamous sight of a man sewn into a car seat.

Hungry Shark Loses Lunch ... And A Tooth
This Great White shark lost not only its lunch but also its tooth when it attacked a decoy seal.

The hungry shark leapt out of the water to snatch up what it thought was a tasty Cape fur seal in its massive jaws.

However, it was actually a decoy and the over enthusiastic shark bit down so hard that one of its teeth was sent flying.

The moment was caught on camera by photographer Dan Callister off the coast of Seal Island near Cape Town, South Africa.

A large population of sharks patrol the waters around Seal Island, which is home to around 64,000 Cape Fur seals from April to September.

With such an abundant food supply close by, scores of sharks patrol the seas around the island on the look out for young and inexperienced seal pups.

To reach the open sea to feed the seals must first cross these shark-infested waters - passing through what is known as the 'ring of death'.

The predators then catch their prey in truly spectacular fashion.

Approaching from below, the sharks leap nearly vertically out of the waves to snatch seals swimming close to the surface.

The behaviour means that the area is acknowledged as the best in the world to witness sharks breaching.

Ousted President Saddam Hussein smiles during the first day of the Anfal trial in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone. The Anfal campaign of the late 1980s, for which Saddam and six others went on trial today, capped decades of hostility between Iraqi Kurds and Saddam's regime. Saddam was charged with genocide, nearly two decades after his forces swept through the villages of the Kurdish north, slaughtering as they went. The defiant former strongman, who maintained his claim to be "President of the Republic of Iraq", refused to enter a plea and the judge ordered that one of "innocent" be entered in the record
