An autonomous pod that can find itself around airports as an aid for people with mobility issues and the disabled is set to be deployed.
The Cruz Mobility is an upright seat with a grab bar and touch pad for selecting a particular destination within an airport complex.
Canadian maker A&K Robotics says it will deploy its self-driving pods across airports, metropolitan areas, and populated transit areas over the next several years.
The fully autonomous, compact robots feature 360º and 3D sensing systems.
The company’s cloud-connected fleet management software CruzRemote allows users to coordinate teams of pods and dispatch them as needed to any location within their facility.
The Vancouver-based company purpose-built its Cruz pods for use at scale in airports.

Two futuristic transportation systems are being considered for the superrich city of Dubai.

One is double-track system that allows people to be transported in pod-like carriages on rails high above, below or on the city streets.

The other is a rail bus system which travels on an elevated road system equipped with solar panels to generate the electricity needed to operate it.

The UAE capital city’s Roads and Transport Authority has signed two memoranda of understanding to look into developing the new and innovative transportation systems.

The pod system is officially called the Floc Duo Rail, a solar powered driverless pod system developed by UK company Urban.Mass.

A new wearable travel pillow aims to keep users in the dark with a built in travel mask.

Called the Pod, it also comes with padded neck and chin support to help get some comfortable sleep time during long journeys.

US-based bed pillow maker maker Pluto said typical neck pillows don’t offer adequate neck support so the Pod was based around a neck brace then “dialled it back down” for a cushiony, supportive feel for optimal sleep no matter your neck size and shape.

There are multiple ways to use the design??It can be used as a normal neck pillow with the hood down

For more privacy the hood can be pulled over the head for more privacy and support on the sides.

Pulling down the eye mask gives even extra privacy and darkness to create what Pluto calls “your own little sleep capsule”

Finally it can be folded up to use as a pillow or back cushion.

A Japanese cafe is offering customers a private booth where they can take a power nap — while standing up.
The Harajuku Nescafé in Tokyo is installing the pods which are called Giraffenap.
The booth has been created by Hokkaido-based Koyoju Plywood Corporation.
The company doesn’t say why they chose the name, but it might be
The long necked African animal sleeps for a few minutes at a time.
Inside the booth are pads and platforms to support head, backside shins, and the soles.
The designers say a 20-minute Giraffenap snooze will improve mental performance by reducing fatigue and stress while boosting concentration and memory retention.
As part of its “Standing Coffee Nap” promotion, Nescafé Harajuku actually recommends drinking a cup of coffee first before taking a snooze so the caffeine kicks in about the time the user is waking.
The Giraffenap comes in two exterior designs, the futuristic Spacia and woody Forest, but the interiors are identical.

A luxury aircraft maker has unveiled its vision of a flying car.But instead of a vehicle capable of flight, executive jet company Embraer has imagined a passenger pod which can bet transferred between a plan and a chassis for the road.Called the Pulse, it is a glimpse at what business aviation might look like in the next 50 years. It was designed to celebrates the Brazil-based aviation brand’s 50th anniversary. The spacious Pulse pod contains the control cockpit and passengers seats. The hug windows offering a 360 degree view of the world, can be used as touch screens for entertainment and can also be dimmed and tinted for privacy. They carry interactive maps which are able to illustrate landmarks when it is in flight. When the Pulse lands, the pod slides from the aircraft body onto a six wheel chassis without passengers having to disembark. The vehicle is designed for motorways as well as off road driving across rigged terrain to ensure all bases are covered.
