Guardsman Jatenderpal Singh Bhullar from West Bromwich and a member of The Scots Guards on duty at Buckingham Palace wearing a War Turban.
For hundreds of years, British soldiers have adorned the bear cap, made from the skin of the animal. Mr Bhullar, however, refused to wear the cap in place of his turban, which is considered a part of the identity of a Sikh.
Mr Bhullar had to endure taunts and long term heckling from his peers over this matter. He is a part of the Scots Guards, responsible for the Queen (FOTO:DUKAS/REX)
