A 160 floor super skyscraper for New York has been design to suck pollution from the city. The 737 meter-tall building raps carbon emissions from the surrounding atmosphere. The Mandragore residential tower has 36 wind turbines, 1,600 trees, 24,500 m2 of plant walls, and 7,000 m2 of solar power façades. Thanks to this huge number of plants and shrubs, the building design would absorb huge amounts amount of carbon monoxide,The tower has been proposed by Paris-based architecture studio, Rescubika. It has been conceived Roosevelt Island and is named Mandragore, from the human-like form of the mandrake plant. A spokesperson said:” The sinuous architecture intends to symbolize humankind’s relationship with nature, and serve as a reminder that we must preserve our environment in order to live in symbiosis with the planet.”The project is a proposal for how the cities of the future might achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
