Bob Sharpless, 74, says he is a victim of "cost cutting" after he was sent home from hospital because the health service refused to fund the procedure because of his "poor prognosis."
After being diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus in August last year, the pensioner has developed a serious heart condition caused by chemotherapy.
Last month, Bob was told that his heart is only working at 20 per cent capacity since undergoing treatment for cancer and he was rushed into Royal Blackburn Hospital on January 21 to have a pacemaker fitted.
