A tiny city car that is actually an e-bike has hit the market.
The four wheeled Frikar is an all enclosed vehicle which is accessed by a cleverly lifting canopy roof.
As the rider pedals, the power generated is electrically transferred to two hub motors – one in each of the rear wheels.
A removable battery pack adds additional power giving it an electronically-limited top speed of 25 km/h.
The Frikar has pedals linked directly to a generator rather than a chain or belt drive.
It has a full battery range of 60 km with room for multiple batteries for extended range.
The vehicle is 230 cm long and 84 cm wide and has protective crumple zones to absorb and distribute impact energy in case of collision.
It can accommodate one adult rider and up to 160 litres of cargo or an optional child seat behind the main seat.

    Redbilled Hornbill called Marli

Caring for more than 10,000 animals, London Zoo’s keepers spend hours throughout the year recording the weights and measurements of the animals –information which provides a critical insight into their health and wellbeing.

The Annual Weigh-In is a chance for keepers at the conservation zoo to make sure the information they’ve recorded is up-to-date and accurate, with each measurement then added to the Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS), a database shared with zoos all over the world that helps zookeepers to compare important information on thousands of threatened species.
