A luxury goods designer and artist has unveiled the world’s most expensive Christmas advent calendar – stuffed with incredibly valuable daily gifts and worth a total of £7.8 million GBP / €9.17 million euros.The 12 day advent was made on commission by British-based Debbie Wingham ,39, for commission for a client on the search for the ultimate Christmas gifts for his family.It contains both joint family gifts and individual presents for each family member..It is themed around the gift of travel.It is floor standing, made reclaimed materials including ebony, constructed into a fine art magnificence and was made using traditional methods, alongside contemporary 3D printing.The calendar alone weighs 49kg and is lacquered in a black diamond paint to give a reflective finish.Hand embellishments are picked out in platinum leaf, emeralds and diamonds including a Bvlgari serpentine necklace.The construction is shaped like traditional Christmas tree ornament.With the top part removed after the festive season, it will leave a circular installation that will be timeless piece of furniture.Each door represents a global destinations which the client’s family are set to enjoy over the coming year.They will be starting their trips by spending Christmas in New York city and they will then see in the New Year in Dubai.Traditionally the period of advent are the 12 days that follow Christmas day, whilst commercially we think of advent calendars starting at 1st and finishing on the 25th of December.
