A town re-emerges from the ashes of a devastating wildfire. But five years on, is Paradise for all?
A deadly blaze in 2018 leveled the area, but now residents are dreaming of a different future in the rapidly developing community.
Construction is constant in the Golden state's fastest growing town. Paradise has a revamped high school, thousands of new homes, recently installed emergency alert sirens and plans for miles of freshly paved roads and underground infrastructure.
It's a stark contrast to the Paradise of 2018, when wildfire leveled the affordable suburban community and killed 85 people.
Stephen Murray, a contractor who became a local hero after helping hundreds of people escape the fire, has called Paradise home for more than 35 years. He committed to returning after the disaster. Now, he says, the challenge is figuring out how he, his old friends and neighbors can stay.

Private paradise: The French Polynesian island locking locals out of beaches.
A huge tourist boom on Mo'orea Island has seen privatisation of coastline, with just three public beaches left.
Last November more than 2,000 people arrived on Temae beach, the heart of Mo’orea island in French Polynesia.
The gathering was a a traditional cultural ceremony called a tahei, which saw people tie braided ti leaf cords together in a symbol of peace. The purpose was to raise awareness of the growing number of developments by a number of different groups on the island, which includes plans for two new hotels, plus more than 300 villas, homes and bungalows, catering to high-end visitors.
Temae is one of just three beaches accessible to the public on the entire island, the rest are privately owned or attached to resorts and inaccessible to locals.

Mount Gulaga (also known as Mount Dromedary) - which rises above the village of Central Tilba - is shrouded by cloud. A Yuin Dreamtime story connects Barunguba to Gulaga. The mountain and Montague Island are connected geologically via a submerged rock shelf.
