Romantic Embrace On A Picturesque Bridge In Treviso
A young couple shares a romantic embrace on a bridge over a canal in Treviso, Veneto, Italy, on November 1, 2024. The bridge is adorned with flowers and set against historic Venetian-style buildings. Reflections in the water and lush greenery enhance the scene's tranquility. (Photo by Michael Nguyen/NurPhoto) -

Une annexe pour superyachts, conçu pour transporter la voiture du propriétaire vers et depuis le navire amarré
Pictures must credit: GreenJoy Studio/Falcon Tenders A superyacht support craft designed to ferry an owner’s car to and from the moored vessel, has been announced. The Falcon Shuttle double hull catamaran has room inside for supercars and heavyweight limos such as Rolls Royce and Bentley, The vehicle would be garaged aboard the tender when on the yacht and then used to take it to shore when it is needed. The vehicle sits low inside to protect it from the water and potentially harmful salt spray, But when it arrives at a marina to be driven away it rises on a platform and the raer of the tender acts as the driveway to land. More details about the vessel is due to be given when it is formally unveiled at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show, to be held from the 25th to the 28th of September. It has been designed by Monaco-based design studio GreenJoy for UK high-end tender builder Falcon Tenders. © GreenJoy Studio/Falcon Tenders via JLPPA/Bestimage

OH WHAT A SURPRISE… A baboon pulls a perfect "O" expression towards the camera. The Chacma baboon's expressions were observed in the Chobe National Park, Botswana.
Wildlife photographer Nick Dale, 56, from South West London, said, “On an early morning safari drive, I noticed a group of Chacma Baboons, including a couple of younger ones, only yards away from the truck. It was a patience game waiting for the young one to turn towards me so once it did, it was just a burst of shots to get what I wanted. It was a sweet moment having it yawn towards me after having chewed a stick.”
“I love the expression the baboon pulls, like it is surprised or shocked that it is being photographed and having its moment in the limelight. Chacma Baboons are always such a delight to photograph as they’re so inquisitive and expressive.”

3. How did you get the shots and were there any difficulties? If so, what were they? I was in a safari truck on a game drive early in the morning, and I noticed this young chacma baboon only a few yards away. The biggest difficulty was waiting for it to turn in my direction! I took a burst of shots, so I got the yawn pretty much from start to finish—even though it was turning its head at the time!
4. Do you know why the baboon pulled the face like that? It was yawning.
5. What was the baboon doing in the moments before/after the shots? It was chewing on a stick.
6. What is your favourite thing about the moment? I love the expression on the baboon's face. The first time I saw it, it made me smile.
7. Is there anything further you think we should know to help us caption the shots? When animals yawn, it's easy to think they're doing something else: roaring, snarling or expressing surpri

Penny savings: taking the measure of money at the Ashmolean museum
The Oxford museum's Heberden coin room holds antique cash objects from around the world. As we test our faith in digital cryptocurrencies, what can we learn from its collection?
"Everything depends on confidence," says the keeper of the Heberden coin room at the Ashmolean museum in Oxford. "Coins are just one form of money. Anything that can be used as payment is money."
Howgego cites Papua New Guinea as an example of what he means. Pearl shells were once used there as cash, which is why the word for shell – kina – is now the name of the national currency. He adds: "The Chinese once used rice as money – at least you could eat it!"
Coronation medal of Edward VI (1546 in the old calendar and 1547 in the new calendar). Coin collection at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, 12 May 2022.
