A plague of fatal bear attacks in Japan has sparked a company into making a shelter to keep out the predators.
The Kumacon is aimed at campsites, hiking trails, and remote homes to keep people safe.
It is made from recycled international-standard shipping containers and comes equipped with a portable toilet, water, a first aid kit, and bear spray.
It is said to have enough room to pack food for users for up to three days.
It has been developed by Japanese company Jakacon.
The nation is home to two species of bear — brown bears and Asian black bears
Japan's Environment Ministry says 88 people were attacked by bears across the nation in October alone, with seven of the victims dying.
That's the worst figure for any month in the past decade.
The ministry also says that from April to the end of October, 12 people were killed and 184 were injured.
OPS:The Kumacon container comes in. three different sizes with a choice of internal layouts

Brown Bear Observes Surroundings
October 16, 2025, Seattle, Washington, USA: Juniper, a Coastal Brown Bear (Ursus arctos gyas), watches her surroundings at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. As the leaves change, a bear's activity levels change as well. Gone are the hyperactive days of hyperphage, where bears are in a constant state of hunger. As we get closer to winter, bears lounge, play, and ponder their surroundings as they wind down into a state of torpor. Bears that have enough food do not hibernate but will become inactive. SNBear sticks tongue out
This is a bit fishy... A brown bear appears to stick out its forked tongue. The large animal is devouring a fish it caught while splashing around in a lake.
The photos were taken by Kevin Ebi in the Katmai National Park, Alaska. The 52-year-old nature photographer said he stayed about 50 metres away from the 'strong' animals but added they had little interest in people. SEE OUR COPY FOR DETAILS. (FOTO: DUKAS/SOLENT NEWS)
