Buck moon over The Needles, Isle of Wight, by Graham Wiffen
WEATHER INPUT FRIDAY 11th JULY 2025
A full ‘buck’ moon fills the summer night’s skies with a warm orange bloom. The bright orange orb is seen rising behind the needles, off the coast of the Isle of Wight.
The astro phenomenon was at it’s biggest and brightest yesterday evening. This phase appears in July and is named after correlation to the period when male deer or ‘bucks’ grow their full antlers. (FOTO: DUKAS/SOLENT NEWS)
