These stunning constructions could grace the city skylines of the future.
They are the amazing entries in the internationally-renowned eVolo Magazine 2014 Skyscraper Competition.
Jaw-dropping concepts range from mushroom-like structures in the desert (Sand Babel) to a seemingly crumpled city structure (Infill Aquifer).
The first place was awarded to Yong Ju Lee from the United States for his project "Vernacular Versatility". The proposal reinterprets traditional Korean architecture in a contemporary mixed-use high-rise.
eVolo Magazine received 525 projects from 43 countries in all continents. The Jury, formed by leaders of the architecture and design fields selected 3 winners and 20 honourable mentions.

The World On Your Finger
THE WORLD ON YOUR FINGER
Foreign travel can be hassle, but why go to all that bother when you can have the world's landmarks - on your FINGER.
A wacky jewellery company have created a line of rings that depict some of the most familiar tourist spots in the world.
The quirky accessories include mini versions of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Seattle's Space Needle, Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower.
Jen Murse, owner of Plastique, came up with the idea while on one of her frequent trips abroad from her home in Los Angeles.
"I love to travel - I've been all over the world - and I was trying to coming up with new ideas for more jewellery pieces so I thought about things I like.
"I decided that it would be fun to make a set of world landmark rings so that you can sort of bring the world to your fingertips."
Her 'World Landmarks' acrylic ring range comes in a set of four for GBP 15 ($24).
"My idea is to make more landmarks so that people can swap them in and out and create new landscapes on their fingers.
"For now I just have the 4 landmarks but I have plans to expand the line to at least 4 or 5 more."

The USS Theodore Roosevelt Anchored in the Solent, Britain - 08 Apr 2009
She's known as the 'big stick' and giant American aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt has certainly made a big impression. The gigantic nuclear warship arrived in Stokes Bay in Gosport on Saturday for a short stay, along with the 4,800 sailors on board. The ship is so huge that she can't anchor in Portsmouth Harbour because the water is too shallow. Due to this, the Nimitz-class ship is anchored one mile from the coast of Stokes Bay and she will remain there until Wednesday.

MAYAN MYSTICISM IN CHIAPAS
Visitors to the Mexican state of Chiapas are guaranteed a trip drenched in Mayan mysticism, as well as unfettered access to lovely hotels, colonial towns and indigenous cultures.
The Pacific Coast state also benefits from an abundance of lush green fields, forests and jungles, fresh air, unique flora and fauna and rare species.
Many ethnic groups live in Chiapas and each has kept their traditions, languages and folklore alive. Their economy is based on cultivation - corn, beans, squash, potatoes, vegetables, pears, tomatoes and other plants - and raising animals such as pigs and poultry. And the colourful costumes of each group are just as varied as the countryside that surrounds them.
Due to this ethnic tradition Chiapas is also famous for its handcrafts. The Tojolabals make various articles in wood and clay; the Lacandons produce reed flutes, hammocks, nets, leather bags, polished and decorated gourds, clay dolls and necklaces of seeds; while the Zoques are masters at weaving baskets and making toys.
Surrounded by dozens of traditional Tzotzil and Tzeltal villages, the city of San Cristobal de Las Casas is at the heart of one of the most deeply rooted indigenous areas in Mexico. Set in a gorgeous highland valley, the colonial city has been a popular travelers' destination for decades. This makes it both an excellent base for local and regional exploration and a place where ancient customs coexist with mod...
