The newest humanoid robot on the market has been shown at work in a factory — making a robotic arm.
The Agile ONE by German company Agile was able to demonstrate its dextrous hand skills including using a screwdriver after slotting parts together
The ONE is the company’s first humanoid and is designed to work safely and efficiently alongside people and other systems in industrial settings.
Co-founder and CEO Dr. Zhaopeng Chen said: “We believe the next industrial revolution is physical AI — intelligent, autonomous and flexible robots that can perceive, understand and act in the physical world.
“Agile ONE embodies this revolution.”
The new robot builds on the Munich-based company’s existing portfolio of various robotic arms.
Agile says the new humanoid combines intuitive human-robot interaction , a dexterous robotic hand, and AI model t”rained on real-world data.”
The robot has responsive eye rings that light up and blink to confirm understanding, proximity sensors and a rearview camera for safety, and a chest display with real-time information.
Its five-fingered hands have multiple sensors to mimic human levels of dexterity.
They enable the robot to manipulate tiny screws, operate power tools, or use a touch screen.
The company says the plan was to build a co-worker that humans can trust and that people are comfortable to work around.
