The cult-like LRA and its leader Joseph Kony are accused of killing civilians and mutilating its victims in a war against the Ugandan government that has uprooted nearly 2 million people and killed tens of thousands, as well as destabilising southern Sudan.
At his press conference, Kony called for a truce and denied committing atrocities in northern Uganda and southern Sudan. "Those words people say to me, that is propaganda because they spoil my name like that ... so that people do not love me as a human being," he told reporters in halting English. Asked whether he would ever stand trial at the ICC, he said: "No, no, no... because I did not do anything."

Asked whether he would ever stand trial at the ICC, he said: "No, no, no... because I did not do anything."

SUDAN: ARROW BOYS SELF DEFENSE TEAMS FIGHT LRA
10 May 2010 - Yambio, Western equatoria State, South Sudan - Arrow Boys patrolling. Western Equatoria State has suffered years of attacks by the LordÕs Resistance Army. Thousands of civilians have been displaced and hundreds killed or abducted in the border area between Southern sudan, DRC and the Central African Republic. In the absence of an effective response by the Sudanese government to the LordÕs Resistance Army, many local men and boys have organized self-defense forces known as the Arrow Boys who battle the relatively well-armed LRA with traditional weapons such as bows, arrows, spears and clubs, treated with poisonous. Initially the self defense force was at a small scale, and it grew up in September 2009 when backlash attacks started to kill, loot, burn houses and rape the villagers. Today, the Arrow boys played a brave and crucial role by taking in charge the protection of their villages. Photo credit: Benedicte Desrus / Sipa Press/1005241614 (FOTO: DUKAS/SIPA)

Photo credit: Benedicte Desrus / Sipa Press/1005241623 (FOTO: DUKAS/SIPA)
