‘Southport has experienced unthinkable grief and fear, but friends, family and strangers have banded together’
After the killings and the riots, kind gestures from the community show their solidarity in grief and emphatic rejection of violence.
Two women and a young girl embrace near the floral tributes to the young viticms of the knife attack in Southport.
A group of women from Southport came together on Saturday morning and sat quietly tending to the floral tributes left in Southport City Centre in tribute to the young lives lost and injured in the knife attack earlier in the week.
Three young girls were murded and 6 others injuired during a knife attack on a children dance party on Hart Street, Southport.

OPS: Oprah asked Meghan about an incident reported in the British tabloids that she made her sister-in-law Kate Middleton cry.But Meghan said the situation was actually the reverse. According to Meghan, Catherine was the one who made Meghan cry about flower girl dresses, and Catherine apologised later and brought her flowers and a note. However, the tabloid rumours were just some of many unfavourable headlines toward Meghan that she says were constructed to fit into a narrative of a "hero and a villain." While Meghan refused to speak unfairly about Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, since she said she has forgiven her.Meghan said everyone in the royal family knew the true story and chose not to tell it.Oprah asked Meghan: 'if there was there a situation where Kate might have cried? Or she could have cried?'But the Duchess of Sussex replied: 'No, no. The reverse happened. And I don't say that to be disparaging to anyone, because it was a really hard week of the wedding. “And she was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologised.“And she brought me flowers and a note, apologising. And she did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone, right, to just take accountability for it.“And the people who were part of our wedding were going to our comms team and saying: 'I know this didn't happen. I don't have to tell them what actually happened'.”Meghan said everyone in the institution knew that wasn't true and she hoped Kate “would have wanted that to be corrected” calling her “a good person”.
