Prince Harry and a group of wounded soldiers are due to trek to the North Pole to raise money for the charity 'Walking With The Wounded', of which Harry is patron. Harry is currently in Norway for three days of intensive final preparations with the team - which consists of four ex-servicemen, two charity founders and a polar guide - before they set off on the expedition. Harry will then take part in the first five days of the grueling 200-mile challenge - sleeping out on the ice in -25C temperatures and dragging a 220lb sled. It is hoped that the expedition will raise GBP 2m to help injured servicemen and women find work, security and peace of mind. All four wounded servicemen taking part in the challenge sustained their injuries fighting in Afghanistan.

Inuit summer huting camp at the mouth of the sepentine river near Shishmaref a tiny island between alaska and siberia in the ChBritainchi sea is home to around 600 inuits or eskimos. As hunter gatherers their carbon footprint is tiny and as such are least responsible for global warming. Yet they are suffering greatly as a result. Their problem is twofold as temperatures rise the sea ice that used to protect thier island home forming around late september is now not forming until late december. this leaves them vulnerable to autumn and early winter storms that are eroding their island and washing it into the sea. Already 10 houses have been washed into the sea and more have had to be moved back from the edge. They are looking at having to relocate their whole comunity to the mainland but the government is refusing to pay for the relocation. Secondly the animals that they rely on for food are moving further north as temperatures warm making them harder to find and hunt threatening their ancient culture and identity.

PIC SHOWS THE QUEUES AT STANSTED AIRPORT IN ESSEX ON THURSDAY 21ST AUGUST AS THE BANK HOLIDAY GETAWAY STARTED WITH PEOPLE WANTING TO ESCAPE THE WET WEATHER.
Some two million British people are set to escape one of the wettest Augusts in years by going on holiday this weekend, according to the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta).
Heathrow Airport will once again be the busiest gateway, with more than 420,000 departures, followed by Gatwick Airport (260,000), Stansted Airport (160,000) and Luton Airport (80,000).
Manchester Airport will be the leading regional gateway, with 160,000 passengers, while the Scottish bases of Edinburgh Airport, Glasgow Airport and Aberdeen Airport will handle a joint total of 140,000 travellers.
Abta president Justin Fleming said: "The August bank holiday is our traditional goodbye to the summer and is always very busy. This year is no exception with large numbers escaping to guaranteed sunshine, sandy beaches and warm seas."
The summer favourites of the Balearics, mainland Spain and Greece are set to be as popular as ever.
City breaks have also been in demand, with New York, Rome, Amsterdam and Dublin set to be full of visitors.
