New Superman movie star David Corenswet has said he did not read the entire script — so there would be no spoilers when he finally saw the film.
The new DC Comics blockbuster about the Man of Steel hit the top spot in box offices around the world when it was released on July 11.
He then refused to see a preview screening so the first time he watched the entire film was at the premiere in Los Angeles.
Corenswet, 32, appearing on TV for the Jimmy Fallon The Tonight Show told the host:” I didn't want anything spoiled.
"So I didn't read the script and I filmed the movie covering my eyes and ears.
“I just really wanted the authentic audience experience.
“Usually I watch a movie early if I'm nervous.
“I want to get my self-conscious viewing out of the way early.
“But when I started seeing the trailers, I kind of got the feeling of what it might be to watch the movie as an audience member.
“And there was this uplifting energy and this feeling of inspiration.
“It feels like the movies that I grew up watching that I loved.
“So I wanted to preserve the experience.
“And everyone cheered. It was a great audience for a big crowd with the cast and some of our crew and their loved ones.
“So just a very positive, supportive audience.”

Supermodel Gigi Hadid has told how her young daughter ate chicken with her fingers when they visited a themed experience focused on medieval times.
Gigi, 29, thought they were going to be some kind of gentle renaissance fair.
But it turned out to be raucous olden times experience with loud bachelor parties going on and being entertained by sword fights
But she said four-year-old Khai , whose dad is former One Direction pop star Zayn Malik, 32, ‘loved the experience.
Gigi and Zayn are no longer together but co-parent.
She told US talk show host Jimmy Fallon that because Khai is into dressing up as a princess, she took her to the Medieval Times experience in New Jersey.
It’s a dinner theatre featuring staged medieval-style games, sword-fighting, and jousting, while also serving a four-course meal.
But just like the real age it replicates, everyone eats with their fingers.
She said: “I'm sitting there and there's, like, bachelor parties, and it's a very good time.
“Khai got very into it !
“And we get there, and why is her favourite chicken the one at Medieval Times?
“She ate so much chicken!”
