    CIVIC , MILITARY PAGEANTRY AT OPENING OF LONDON'S SAVINGS DRIVE

    Mayors of nearly 60 Greater London boroughs took part in the inaugural ceremony at Trafalgar Square, London today of London's effort in the weeks nationwide campaign launched by the National savings committee.
    Assembled in the square for 500 pre-service cadets of the Navy, Army and Air Force and the massed bands of the lifeguards and Royal horse guards.
    The savings drive, first since 1945, is intended to draw attention to workers' savings groups and recruit more regular savers.
